The inspiration comes from a range of sources.  Often, it is a case of seeing two colours or textures of paper on the desk ‘singing’ to each other. Working instinctively, I try and find a way of bringing them together in a composition. In addition, the work could stem from the deliberate consideration of a concept. There can be many hours of positioning, re-positioning, adding and subtracting to find a pleasing balance of colour, tone, texture and form.
